What's New
Here you will find a list of changes, enhancements, and fixes for our CNS releases.

4.0 Changes
  1. Switch Notes - There are now buttons in the upper left corner of the screen next to the Open Patient button to allow you to go to the previous note, the next note, or directly to the latest note. These buttons allows you to switch notes for the patient that is currently active without leaving the screen you are on. For instance if you are on the Notes screen viewing a particular note you can use this button to switch to the previous note but remain in the Notes screen.
  2. Patient Comments – The patient's comments now has no limit to the amount of text and you can also use “Rich Text” such as font types, font sizes, font colors, bold, italic, underline, etc. There is a built-in editor to help you format your comments. Either double-click the patient comments area or click the “Show Editor” button on the Patient tab.
  3. Patient Comments – You can now edit the patient comments directly from the top of any screen. You no longer have to do it only from the patient tab.
  4. Master Note – There are 2 new variables you can use on the master note template. The doctor's first name and the doctor's last name. You can use these to put the doctor's name on the patient's notes. This also works well with multiple doctor practices. YOU MUST USE THE LOGON FEATURE TO USE THESE 2 NEW VARIABLES since the doctor's name is pulled from the user sign in.
  5. Subjective additional text and assessment additional text now stop you from entering more than 5000 characters which is the new maximum.
  6. There is now a Page Header and Page Footer section of the master note template that will print on the top and bottom of each page of your notes. So now you have a Page Header and Page Footer that print on each page and you also have a Note Header and Note Footer that print only at the beginning and end of each note.
  7. The diagnosis codes on the assessment screen now stay in the order that you enter them. That is also the way they show up in the notes. You have the ability modify the order of the diagnosis on the assessment screen by manipulating the “order” column.
  8. Switch Users – For those of you with multiple user logins there is now a menu item under “Patient File” that allows you to quickly login as another user. (Patient File / Login).
  9. Patient Alert – You can now set up alerts that popup when you access a patient. These are setup on the Patient screen or at the top of the screens next to the Patient Comments. Simply type any important information into the alert drop down. Whenever you open that patient a warning dialog will be shown with those alerts. You can also hold your mouse over the alert button at the top of the screen and a popup hint will be shown with the alerts.
  10. On the Application Setup screen you now have the ability to set the Font Size of all the additional text boxes located at the bottom of the subjective, objective, assessment, and plan screens. This makes it easier to read the text.
  11. The application setup now has an option to warn you to backup CNS when closing.
  12. Under the Data menu there is now a Backup and Restore option for easier access.
  13. When re-randomizing only certain sections of the note you no longer lose customizations you have done in the other sections of the note. Only the section being re-randomized will be touched.
  14. Muscle form now has a pre-defined list to quickly call up muscle selections and problems. This works just like the other predefined lists in other screens.
  15. On the Application Setup screen you now have the ability to load a signature for the current user of CNS. If you use the Logon feature you can load a signature for each doctor/user. The signature can now be added to the master note template and printed when the note is printed. The Variables dialog has a @DOCTORSIGNATURE variable to drag and drop into the master template.
  16. Modality screen is now broken out next to plan and treatment. It has it's own tab now instead of being a button on the treatment tab.
  17. On the Application Setup screen you now have the ability to set the Font Size of all the note text on the Note tab. This font affects the data under each section not the main headers. So if I set the Font Size to 14 then all the text under each section will be a font size of 14. This is different than the font size for the note preview or print.
  18. Note preview now has an option to email the note / notes from the preview form. Once the preview is up just click the “Email” button on the top left and it will save the note as a PDF file and attach it to an email for you. Just supply the address and mail it.
  19. Spinal screen – Selecting “Head” on muscle image doesn't show up the next time you enter the screen so you could not tell that you had enterend anything there. This has been fixed.
  20. Additional text areas at the bottom of the screens now have a splitter above them to expand them so you can see more text.
  21. Any generated text that has “at at” in it is now just “at”.
  22. Treatment tab now has green ellipses on segments that have been adjusted and navy ellipses on segments that have a listing but have not been adjusted
  23. All user defined lists were increased from 50 characters to a maximum of 200 characters. These include all drop downs on the subjective, assessment, plan, and several of the objective screens.
  24. All drop downs within CNS are now sizeable to be able to see lengthy entries. When you drop it down there is a “size handle” on the lower right corner of the drop down. Just click and drag.
  25. Calls preview dialog now has an option for “All Call” or a date range.
  26. Notes preview dialog now has an option for “All Notes” or a date range.
  27. Modality locations drop down was sometimes clearing itself. This has been fixed.
  28. All date / time formats now work with CNS. Some format were causing severe issues with saving and recalling notes. Now all date/time formats will work.
  29. Selected items are now more noticable. The selected circle is more pronounced on the following screens: Spinal tab, Treatment tab, Subjective tab, ROM tab, Orthopedic Tests, Muscle Tests, Reflex Tests, and Xrays.
  30. Enhanced note and call preview form.
  31. Updated Report Explorer files to build reports from under the Reports / Custom Reports menu.
  32. Predefined Subjective Complaints now load the trend, quality, frequency, impairment, and type of pain fields correctly.
  33. Fixed the issue with adding the same modality on different body locations. This caused problems with selecting modalities.
  34. Can now group, sort and filter note grid on patient screen.
  35. New Patient – Doctor's name will now default to the doctor that is signed in.
  36. Fixed so you can now drag and drop text into Assessment and Objective sections of Master Note template.
  37. Master Note – Dragging and dropping variables into the master note now works.
  38. On Treatment tab you can now right-click the joint and muscle selections and clear the adjustments like you can with the disk segments.
  39. Fixed the access violation when double-clicking the Treatment text box on the Assessment screen and the Short and Long Term plan text boxes on the Plan tab.
  40. ROM screen cervical flexion now defaults to correct setting.
  41. Get Prior Objective button now refreshes the screen properly.
  42. Fixed bug where some subjective information was not being returned from pre-defined saves. Now all information you save in the predefined area will be returned when you recall that predefined.

3.0 Changes
  1. Treatment screen now has ability to apply active release protocols to muscles.
  2. Images have been updated to XP icons.
  3. Fixed FAQ link.
  4. Dermatome trash button now works.
  5. Office XP color themes.
  6. Enhanced grid functionality.
  7. Common phrases cell hit pops up behind dialog fixed.
  8. Text and grammar corrections.
  9. Vital screen systolic and dystolic entries reversed.
  10. Can now copy previous note or selected note.
  11. Now have the ability to turn off segment ROM restrictions being set automatically from listing.
  12. Subjective auto popup option when checking checkbox.
  13. Fixed need to re-register CNS occasionally.
  14. Can create template notes to use when creating new notes.
  15. Can now group, sort, and filter note grid on patient screen.
  16. XRay / Images now defaults to "All".
  17. Selecting location using "by area" doesn't stick on Subjective screen.
  18. Past complaints no longer on Subjective screen still show up in notes.
  19. Subjective - Drop down location. Select "By Area". Close "By Area" dialog. Drop down location again. The drop down is no longer filtered by the selected complaint area. Fixed.
  20. Inferior arrow button on segment screen not getting set.
  21. Listing arrows now present on Spinal and Treatment screens for segments and motion units without having to hover mouse over the segment.
  22. Treatment tab now has green ellipses on segments that have been adjusted and navy ellipses on segments that have a listing but have not been adjusted.

2.9.5 Changes
  1. User defined range of motion normals are not printing in the note with detailed ROM selected.
  2. Went through entire text database and corrected spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.
  3. Patient comments at the top of each screen is now a different color text.
  4. When the title is selected on a new patient then gender defaults to correct one.
  5. Option on patient screen to lock a specific note immediately.
  6. When adding a phrase the category now defaults to the screen you are on.
  7. Yellow balloon hint sometimes doesn’t encompass entire text.
  8. Option to turn off Lock Notes feature.
  9. Vital screen has option to not take vitals for each one and it looks at this for text generation.
  10. Patient screen now has height, weight, handedness, date of birth (age), and ssn fields.
  11. Severity trend is now a user definable list.
  12. Frequency is now a user definable list.
  13. Severity is now a user definable list.
  14. Impairment is now a user definable list.
  15. Type of pain is now a user definable list.
  16. Application setup has new option to specify preferred order of objective tabs.
  17. Modality button now has green check mark on it if data exists.
  18. Muscle exam screen now has multi selection for problems and generated text uses this to generate correct sentences.

2.9 Changes
  1. Pre-Defined buttons now have hot key associated with them (Alt + L).
  2. Pre-Defined list takes effect if you hit "Enter" now after selecting item.
  3. All hints are now shown only if you have the Application setup option "Show Hints" checked.
  4. Pre-Defined refreshes screen immediately after taking effect.
  5. Subjective comes up automatically now with first complaint selected.
  6. Option to input list of users and require signing into CNS. Once signed in CNS tracks who created and modified notes.
  7. Can now create multiple doctors and sign into CNS as a certain doctor. Can assign each patient to a doctor and that doctor has option to only see his patients. Each doctor has his own master note template.
  8. Notes are now locked after user defined period of time once they have been generated. Cannot modify the note once it is locked.
  9. Note list shows icon next to notes depicting status of note. (Blank - Not Generated) (Green Check - Generated but not locked) (Lock - Locked)
  10. "Type of Care" on Assessment screen is now user definable list.
  11. "Prognosis" on Assessment screen is now user definable list.
  12. Some screens now stay the size and position where you last left them. (Adjust, Form Variables, Joint, Modality, Note Variables, X-Ray DIsplay, Phrases, Segment, Patient List, User Maintain)
  13. Can now right-click on segment on treatment screen and clear an adjustment. This way can use auto-adjust but remove segments you did not adjust.
  14. Put back in ability to randomize one section of note at a time or entire note.
  15. Note printing is put back to the way it used to be where the headers and footers print on each note.
  16. Fixed note footer not printing multiple lines or images.
  17. New option in "Application Setup" to remind you to generate note if you try to leave without doing it.
  18. Application Setup screen has been re-organized by note section.
  19. Fixed problem where sometimes additional text did not save to note.
  20. There is now an option to print calls / conversations.
  21. When printing multple notes and not paging between notes if more than one note was on a page the header and footer would only show once for the first note. Went back to "old way".
  22. Fixed issue where @LOCATION was showing in note when certain items were selected.
  23. You can now move and size columns in the grids and the size and position will be saved for the next time you enter that particular screen.
  24. Screen are now optimized for 800x600 resolution or higher. Can see all front and back images now. This item will really increase your productivity since you can see more on each screen.
  25. Objective sections now have additional text capabiity like Subjective, Assessment , and Plan.
  26. Only need to click exit once to exit CNS now.
  27. Dermatome screen has been totally redone similar to the spinal screen where you click on a dermatome and set the properties for that dermatome.
  28. Temperature no longer has too many digits like 98.5999943.
  29. Application setup now has option to set ROM normal range settings for detailed ROM.
  30. X-Ray findings no longer default the location to the selected area which produced text like "cervical hypolordosis Cervical".
  31. X-Ray findings sentence was missing the '.' at the end.
  32. Adjustments for joints now show in Plan section of generated note.
  33. Redid the application setup for default adjustment technique settings. Handles Joints now
